Useful information

Venice's main airport is named after the great traveler Marco Polo, a European who discovered China. This has an amazing meaning: each time arriving in the city on the water, its guests discover something new and unknown, even if they are not coming here for the first time. The airport is, without a doubt, the "face" of the city.

For almost the entire year, tourists seek to visit local attractions, arriving in their destination city from Marco Polo Airport. It should be noted that in 2008 the Venetian airport received almost 7 million passengers, becoming the fourth in Italy in terms of passenger traffic and the number of take-offs / landings.

The terminal of the Venetian air harbor opened in 2002, and today it is already loaded almost to the maximum. And this is not surprising: it serves not only regular, but charter flights, not only Italian but also foreign, and also welcomes thousands of guests daily.

The airport building itself cannot be called remarkable: the terminal occupies three floors. The first of these was given to arrivals, on the second floor there are sixty check-in desks and several lounges and waiting rooms, where passengers can comfortably reduce the waiting time for their flight, and the third floor is occupied by numerous offices of various airlines and other companies. The entire terminal is literally littered with restaurants and fashion boutiques, where even the most sophisticated shopping lovers will find something for themselves. It is also noteworthy that in the recreation area of Marco Polo there is even a SPA salon, a first-aid post, as well as several services for people with disabilities.

Moreover, for three years now, Venice Airport has been offering an unusual service: every passenger can confess or receive the blessing of a priest working in the Orthodox chaplain service.

From Marco Polo you can fly not only to the largest cities of the country, but also beyond its borders, and even cross the ocean, reaching, for example, New York or Philadelphia.

Needless to say, that you can get to Venice from direct flights from Moscow and with 1 change from St. Petersburg and Minsk on regular flights? In addition, from Venice every day there are flights to all the main cities of Europe: Oslo, Geneva, Madrid, Barcelona, Luxembourg and many other cities. You can fly to the Venetian airport while traveling with both expensive and relatively cheap airlines.
