How to get from Rimini to Rome

Rimini is considered the most popular seaside resort in Italy for Russian-speaking tourists: tens of thousands of our compatriots come here every year. A considerable degree of popularity of the resort contributes to the huge exhibition complex located here, rich shopping, as well as an abundance of attractions in the area. However, all these interesting things fade before the greatness and attractiveness of the Italian capital. From Rimini to Rome, the path is not short - depending on the route - it is 360-400 kilometers. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account not only the price of the trip, but also its comfort. Be that as it may, we will try to talk about all the options available, and we will leave the right to choose which one is preferable.

From Rimini to Rome by train

Rimini Central Station (Stazione di Rimini) is located at Piazzale Cesare Battisti. You can get to the station by city buses No. 1-9, 11, 14-20.

There is only one direct train Rimini Rome - the so-called "White Arrow" (FrecciaBianca, speed up to 200 km / h). He leaves in the morning at 6:38, and arrives in the Italian capital, Termini Station, at 10:20. Travel time - a little less than 4 hours. The fare is from 20 € (2019). The return direct train from Rome to Rimini leaves at 17:38 and arrives at 21:25. A ticket costs the same - about 20 €.

The rest of the trains follow with a change in Bologna with an interval of 40-60 minutes. You can also get them: at a cost this option will come out about the same, but in time a little longer. On average, a trip through Bologna will take 5 and a half hours.

By plane

Airplane is the fastest mode of transport. But ... not in this case. At the time of writing this article, we could not find direct flights from Rimini to Rome, only with transfers.

But, even if they existed, they would hardly be interesting. Indeed, in addition to the flight itself, by the time of the trip I would have to add trips to airports, as well as the inevitable losses for all pre-flight procedures. By bus

A bus ride from Rimini to Rome is inexpensive, but long enough. You can buy tickets at the bus station (located next to the railway station) or on the official websites of the carrier companies.

Bonelli Bus buses run from Rimini to Rome only 3 times a week - on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, not directly from Rimini, but from Cesenatico, another resort on the Adriatic. The route is called - "Romagna - Rome" (Romagna - Roma).

An alternative way to get to Rome from Rimini by bus is to use Flixbus. Flights are operated daily, but some of them are direct, and some are with a change (usually in Pescara). By car

Another way to get to the capital is by renting a car. You can rent a car in one of the resort’s many rentals, or reserve in advance - online. The second option when using large price comparison services in most cases will cost even cheaper (for example, through Rentalcars).

In addition to cars, you will also have to spend money on gasoline and tolls. You can predict costs through Viamichelin, a popular travel planning service. As of the beginning of 2019, the service estimated the cost of a trip along the shortest route at 41 Euros. Of these, 33 Euros “pulled” gasoline and another 8 - highway tolls. Estimated travel time is 4-5 hours.

When planning a motor route, it should be noted that Rome is not the most convenient place for traveling by car, especially if you are not familiar with the city. But, taking a car, you can significantly diversify the trip by visiting the small non-tourist cities of central Italy. For example, Tivoli, Pesaro, Ancona. And it is worth a lot.
